The Command Center: The Past
The Command Center shook under the explosions set off by Rito
and Goldar. The newly regrown Power Rangers were thrown about with
the heavings. "ALPHA.....TELEPORT THE RANGERS OUT NOW!" Zordon boomed.
He was trying to be brave. He didn't wish to see his friends die with
him. "We won't leave you !" Adam shouted. Billy saw a small fire begin
to appear at a control console next to Alpha. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Billy
dove and knocked Alpha out of the way just as the console erupted,
openening many cuts and bruises. Alpha quickly activated the
teleportation unit. The Rangers disappeared.
"Zordon! I don't know what to do!! Ay-yi-yi!IIIIIIIII!!!....."
Alpha's scream was cut short by a chunk of the roof falling on him.
Zordon sadly looked at Alpha...he knew the robot wasn't really "alive"
, but he loved the little being. Zordon grimly looked at the carnage
and awaited death. "At least the Rangers will not share the same
fate" he thought...as the room was engulfed in a white light.
The Command Center exploded in a brilliance never before seen
as the Rangers landed in a clearing just out of the explosion's reach.
"BILLY!" Kat screamed, looking at Billy's prone form lying on the ground.
Billy sat up, in shock. " No...please dear God....."
Tommy could only shake his head, looking at the charred shell of
the fortress. "Do you think someone could have survived that?" Adam
asked forlornly. "I don't think so..." Tommy groaned with the ache of
losing a friend.
He and Zordon had talked about a dream he had experienced
with the Center being attacked by a being called Ivan Ooze and almost
killing him. Zordon shook it off, dismissing it as just a dream.
Tommy wondered if Zordon had knew that the Command Center would one
day fall.
"What are we gonna do?" Kat moaned, nursing a cut on her arm.
"Dunno..Tommy said,"But it looks like the end of the power rangers."
They all stood, heads bowed in deep respect for their fallen leader.
On the moon, Lord Zedd was rolling on the floor in glee. His
wife, Rita looked at him with a frown. "Why the celebration hubby?"
Zedd could barely contain himself. "The Command Center looked like a
fourth of july parade! HAHAH....." He looked down at earth. "What ..."
He slammed a fist on the rail of the room. "NO! They were supposed to
go with the Command Center! " Rita smiled. "Relax. We have the Zeo
Crystal. Without their beloved leader, they don't have the technology
to call the Alien Rangers, and they can't even teleport!" Zedd's mood
quickly became jovial again. "YYEEEES!"
At the Command Center, a lone figure combed the wreckage. He
flipped out a phone and called a number. "Jason Scott, please." He
picked up a piece of the Viewing Globe and examined. "Jason...it's
Rick. I have some bad news." Jason's voice was tinny but distinct.
" What is it? Rick sighed. "Your friend, Zordon....he's ..." Jason's
shock was clear. "What? What happened?"
"Looks like an implosion device." Rick said. "and Power Rangers
have scattered."
"Do you think you can restore the Morphin Grid? " Jason asked.
"I might.....It's gonna be very hard. I'll contact you when I have
progress."
"Great. I'll call Trini, Zack and Kim....maybe we can get the team
back together." Jason said.
Rick picked up a control panel and hooked in his PowerPortaPack
to it. Bringing the computer online, he quickly ran a diagnostic test.
He smiled. The computer was damaged, but it was repairable...the
housing was the only major damage. Satisfied , he began to look
around. He came across a hand sticking out of the rubble.
"Oh, Alpha...." He breathed.
He sat the robot up and checked Alpha V out. He fiddled with the
wires, and sparks flew from what would be Alpha's nose. "ayy---yi--yi.
.....danger...help....raannn....gerss...must...telep..them."
"Alpha...it's Rick...can you hear me..." Rick seemed pained.
The little robot was in bad shape....clearly he needed reworking.
"Rriiickkkk.....Hellpppp...me.." Alpha stammered.
"Hang tight buddy." Rick messed with some circuit boards and set up a new configuration.
"I am...feeling much better." Alpha said." I think I can stand up."
Alpha stood shakily. "Ay-yi-yi" He looked at Zordon's time warp core. It was shattered.
"No..." .Rick and Alpha walked up to the base. Zordon laid in a bed of crystals. "Tommy
had had a dream about this..." Alpha said. " But we saved him in time." Rick set his jaw.
"We still might have a chance. Alpha, run a check of how much power we have left."
Alpha worked some controls. "I can create a stasis field around Zordon. It may be able to
keep him alive a while longer."
"I have an idea to save him. But first, we have to recreate the Morphin Grid."
" Ok...do you remember the plasma energy that was stored underneath in a hidden cache?"
"AY-YI-YI! You're right! We stored that a long time ago just in case of an emergency!"
"Alright. Begin working up a connection to that. I'll begin to hook in a stasis field to Zordon."
As Rick walked up to Zordon, his eyes opened, and looked straight into Rick's face. "Merrrge...
a human....with Zyu technology....and I can be avenged..." Rick shook his head. "No Zordon...get your rest."
Zordon shuddered. "Zeo....crystal...need..alien...rann..."
"Zordon , get your rest, please...I'm gonna try to get things fixed."
The hours passed as Rick fitted a console into a slot. It hummed into life as lights blinked on it..
He nodded his head as he looked at the plasma hookup he had just installed. The computer beeped and spit
out a printout. Rick took the sheet and read the diagnostics. He smiled .
"Great." smile growing bigger, " The computer is back online...we have limited teleportation and communicaton
abilities. The only problem for now is all the damage to Command Center's structure. We have to keep the computers
safe. But for now it looks good though. "
"Ay-yi-yi!" Alpha said. His chassis had taken on a new lustrous look from the polish.
"And the repairs on me have be morphinominal!"
On the moon, things were less celebratory. Zedd was listening to a Rita Fit. "NO!"
Rita screamed. " That puke is helping the Rangers again!"
"Oh, give it a rest!" Zedd muttered.
" Why should I?" Rita blasted, " He helped save Kim from Tortura's grasp and got the team back to full strength!" Rick had
saved Kimberly from Lord Zedd's horrible torture monster, and got the team reunited to defeat Tortura.
"Cause I have a plan." Zedd said.
"Oh yeah, I forgot...make a monster."
"Exactly" Zedd said. "Cyclopsis is gonna return...but your son Kai is gonna be his pilot, and not that bumbler Goldar."
The two laughed evilly.
"Ok...I think I've got enough power to contact the Aquatians." Rick said.
He clicked on a switch. "Aquatar, This is the Command Center....Delphine, can you read me?"
The viewing globe shimmered. "I , Delphine, leader of the Aquatian KakuRangers answer your call..
.Who is speaking? You do not look familiar."
"Delphine, I am Rick, a friend of the Power Rangers. A major tragedy has occured and we need
your help. The Command Center is severly damaged and the rangers are scattered."
"And Zordon?" Delphine said. "Is he alright?"
" I fear Zordon is dying....I cannot get him healed nor restore the time
warp he was in."
"We are on our way, Rick. Do you have a plan to combat this
disaster?"
"I've been working on it. Do you have someone that is familiar with Zord
technology?" Rick said.
"I am Cestro...expert in Zord configurations." Cestro stood forward.
"Cestro, I have found the remains of the Dino and ThunderZords. Can you help me restore them once the Morphin
Grid is back online?"
"Yes.....but why not use the Ninja and ShogunZords?" Cestro said.
"I need you for that." Rick said, " We need all the help we can get to defend the Command Center from any
further attack. The Aquatian Rangers will pilot the Shogun Megazord with a remote to the NinjaZords. I and my
team will pilot the ThunderMegaZord , if we can get them working, and the DinoMegazord. With a squad of four
MegaZords covering the perimeter of the area, the Command Center should be alright."
Delphine spoke again. "Then it is set...we will journey back to your planet now."
The viewing globe dissolved. Rick went back to his work. Alpha tapped him on his shoulder.
"Yes, Alpha?" Rick said.
" How are you going to pilot a Zord? Only morphed rangers can do so."
Rick walked to the door to the chamber where Tommy was made into the White Ranger.
Alpha followed. Inside, the chamber still had some componets working.
Rick knelt at a keypad on a drawer. He pressed a code in. 3652...click. The drawer's locking mechanism disengaged,
and the drawer opened. Six coins rested in hollowed out holes. One had a
Tyrannosarus, one a Triceratops, a Saber Tooth Tiger, a Pterodacytal and a Mastadon. Alpha looked on in shock.
"These coins are empowered with the same Dinosaur energies that gave Jason, Zack , Trini, Kim , Billy, and Tommy
their gifts.....now they will have those powers once again. But for now, it will only
morph them...they won't be able to pilot a Zord yet."
"Which one will you choose?" Alpha said.
"Well....you know.." Rick said, smiling..as he picked up the Tyrannosaurus Power Coin.
"Hey! I don't think it's fully powered yet! " Alpha said. "It could hurt you!"
"Only one way to find out." Rick said. "It's Morphin Time!"
A Flash....."Tyrannosaurus!"
Smoke filled the room as a red energy blinded Alpha. The Command Center's emergency blowers
activated, and cleared the air. A figure, dressed in white boots with red trim, a belt with a Power Morpher
on it and a blade blaster on his side. and a expressionless helmet on his head, approached Alpha.
Gloved hands grasped each side of the helmet and opened it. The figure slowly took off the mask and put
the helmet on the floor. Silently, the figure stepped into the light. Rick smiled.
" Hi Alpha, meet the Red Ranger." Alpha nodded. "Phase one complete. Teleport Jason, Zack, Trini, and Kimberly to here."
"What about Tommy?" Alpha asked.
"He still needs to fufill his personal quest. I am going to help him later on that." Rick said.
Alpha left to teleport the teens to the remains of the Command Center. Rick walked over to the six power
coins. He looked at the Green coin . It had a half of an arrowhead on the surface.
Rick smiled. "I know your destiny, Tommy. You went back into time to save Colonial Angel Grove, and now it's time for
the Green Ranger to return to his rightful power. " Tapping a key on his communicator, Rick contacted Alpha. "Ok...the
command center's energy should be back in shape...try the regeneration of matter thing of yours."
The Command Center was finally up to full power. Sparks flew as solid shapes formed in the blown apart
holes in the walls. Command Center was being rebuilt..
"Keep the power up Alpha!" Rick shouted over the noise.
"Ay-yi-yi I'm trying!" Alpha said.
Finally the Command Center stood whole again, the walls and ceiling shimmering like new. The two looked around in
awe as the musical tones of the communicator activated.
"Rick here."
"It me." Jason Scott said. "I've got Trini, Zack, and Kimberly with me."
"Ok...prepare for teleportation."
With a flash, four young adults stood in the command center. Rick shook Jason's hand. "Welcome back you guys.
The world needs your powers and skills again." The four smiled as he retrieved a cache. Rick opened it to reveal
four glittering coins. Turning to Kim, he said. "You will
have the power of the Pterodactyal once again, Kim..may it's power strenghen you." Kim's hand took on a momentary pinkish
glow from the power. "Trini, the power of the Saber-Tooth Tiger is yours. " Trini
approached Rick and took her place in history. "Jason, a mighty and tough leader. You have gained a lot of wisdom in your
service as a Power Ranger. You will hold the power of the Triceratops." Rick set the coin in
Jason's hand. "Zack, fast and fun loving. You will control the power of the Mastadon. "
"What about the DragonZord?" Jason asked.
"Alpha is trying to establish a link with the clone of Tommy from the past. He will hold the sixth power coin as
the Green Ranger." The alarm sounded. "Tenga attack!" Alpha shouted. "Rito and a band of Tenga Warriors
were causing trouble. "We got it Alpha." Rick said. "Jason?"
Jason smiled. "It's Morphin Time!"
Energy Strike: "Mastadon!" Zack shouted, changing into Black Ranger.
"Pterodactyal!" Kim said, transforming into the Pink Ranger.
"Triceratops!" Jason shouted, morphing into Blue Ranger.
"Saber-Tooth Tiger!" Trini screamed, becoming Yellow Ranger.
"Tyrannosarus!" Rick shouted, knowing one day he wouldn't type that too well.
He quickly became Red Ranger.
They appeared at the attack. "Power Rangers!" all shouted. Rito only groaned."How many of you guys are there! "
Jason sneered, "More than enough to take you out!" A tenga grabbed him by the arms and Jason flipped over the Tenga,
tagging him in the beak with a spin kick. The Tenga exploded
in a puff of feathers. "Guys, I found the answer! Aim for the Beak!" Jason felt funny saying that.
Trini sat on top of a Tenga's head, pulling out feathers. Zack was dancing circles around a third. Kim was beating a
Tenga with her bow. Rick was slamming a Tenga into a tree. All five promptly hit the beaks at the same time, and all the Tenga's vanished.
"You were saying Rito?" Trini laughed. "Who was gonna beat who?" she quickly leaned to her communicator.
"Alpha .. I hope you got the Zord's ready...I think we know what's next."
"They are ready Trini.." Alpha said. "I just hope they can stay together."
Trini looked up. She quickly dove for cover as Rito's huge foot slammed down into the ground, shaking all of them.
"Aw, man!" Jason said.
"Let's do it!" Zack shouted.
"Time for the Zords!" Trini said.
"Yes!" Kim chuckled.
"We need ThunderZord Power, NOW!" Rick screamed.
From the far corners of the Earth, the mystical Thunderzords answered the call of the Power Rangers. Each one lept in their cockpit.
"Rangers, Logon!" Rick said.
"Zack here, ready to rumble!"
"Trini here, all system's go!"
"Jason here, Triceratop's all set!"
"What? No stereo?" Kim said.
"Alright, I feel a butt kickin coming on!" Rick said.
Each Zord began it's transformation. The Unicorn and Griffin Zords stood upright, forming legs. The Red Dragon's legs slid
into the Unicorn and Griffin as the LionZord's torso attached to the Red Dragon's chest. The Firebird folded around
the Dragon's waist. A helmet slid into position on the zord's head.
"MEGATHUNDERZORD,POWER UP!"
Rito only laughed. "ha...heheh...(snicker) He shot a energy bolt into the MegaZord's hull, but the newly designed sheilds held.
"Jason.You got the remote for the TigerZord ready? Rick asked.
"Yup" came the reply.
"Alright. Time for ThunderUltraZord power." Rick said. "We can't expend too much power."
Tor quickly shot into view. "UltraZord, Power up!" The TigerZord went into Tor's hold. The MegaZord disengaged, and the Assult
Team and Red Dragon assumed their places. Boosted by the other Zords, Tor unleashed a hellish blast on Rito, sending him flying.
He blew up before he hit the ground. "So much for that BeetleJuice reject!" Kim laughed. The kids teleported back to the Command Center.
"Rangers...you made it." Alpha didn't sound happy.
"Alpha, what's wrong?" Trini asked.
